Produce on offer

AN edible flower bed has been planted outside Henley fire station.

AN edible flower bed has been planted outside Henley fire station.

The Gardening Buddies and residents worked together to create the communal amenity.

They planted a variety of salad plants, herbs, strawberry plants and rhubarb to fit in with the “incredible edibles” theme of this year’s Britain in Bloom contest.

The plants were supplied by Toad Hall garden centre and the Henley Allotments Association and residents will be able to help themselves to produce.

Firefighter Terry Coupar, who helped dig the bed and to water the plants, said: “It is going to smarten up the area and will look nice for residents.”
