A FREE guitar masterclass will be open to people attending a concert in aid of Friends of Watlington Library.

Gordon Giltrap and Raymond Burley, who together form Double Vision, will offer tuition before the concert next Saturday (July 6).

Mr Giltrap wrote Heartsong, which was nominated for an Ivor Novello award, and Mr Burley is one of Britain’s most experienced classical guitarists.

Concert organiser Leigh Greenham said: “We know there are lots of able and budding musicians in the Watlington area and here is a great opportunity to get some practical tips to improve their guitar playing or to just strum along with two of the UK’s greatest guitarists.”

The concert will take place at Icknield Community College from 7.30pm. Refreshments have been donated by the Co-operative.

Tickets cost £12 (£6 for under-16s) and are available from the library or the post office. To book a tuition place, call Mr Greenham on (01491) 613005.
