THE Source to Sea River Relay is to pass through the Henley area.

The inaugural relay, which is part of the London Mayor’s Thames Festival, involves a bottle of water drawn from the source of the Thames in Gloucestershire being conveyed to the mouth of the Thames estuary by walkers, swimmers, rowers and sailors.

On September 9, it will be carried by Rivertime, a 42ft boat purpose built to carry disabled people, from Shiplake to Marsh Lock and from there to Hambleden by Lady Genevieve and members of Henley Rowing Club.
