A FREE guided walk to the ruins of a Roman villa will depart from Whitchurch on Sunday.
The Whitchurch Society will lead ramblers along the banks of the Thames to Gatehampton Farm, near Goring.
A villa existed here between 200 and 400 AD as part of the ancient Roman village of Gatehampton. Archaeologists are currently digging at the site.
The five-mile walk will also pass a disused 13th-century chalk quarry, a Second World War pillbox and the remains of a Saxon house.
Participants should meet outside the Modern Artists Gallery in High Street at 12.30pm. Bring a drink and a packed lunch.
