Tennis club floodlights turned on

NEW floodlights have been unveiled at Peppard Lawn Tennis Club.

NEW floodlights have been unveiled at Peppard Lawn Tennis Club.

Four of the six courts in Colliers Lane are now covered by the lights so they can be used all-year round.

The lights cost about £25,000, with 40 per cent of the funding coming from South Oxfordshire District Council and the remainder from the club.

Club chairman Vic Fry said: “We are delighted with the new floodlights and will be able to extend our play throughout the year.

“Hopefully we can welcome new members to the club.”

Just over a year ago, the club completed the construction of a new £38,000 clubhouse with a kitchen, changing area, toilets, storage space, seating area and   veranda.

l An open day held at the club on April 26 attracted a number of families. Children received tennis lessons and adults played on the courts and there was a barbecue.
