Food swap encourages less waste

MORE than 15 people took part in a food swap in Wargrave.

MORE than 15 people took part in a food swap in Wargrave.

The Henley Apples for Eggs event was held at the Local Larder at Val Wyatt Marine in Willow Lane on Saturday.

The participants displayed their goods, including pumpkins, breads and Christmas decorations, and then agreed to swaps without any money changing hands. Everything had to be worth the same as a box of six eggs.

Organiser Suri Poulos said: “It was a big one with such a nice crowd and everybody had a lovely time.

“There were lots of people who had never come before and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves and said they would come back.

“We welcome new faces and would love to have even more because it’s such an enjoyable event.”

Ms Poulos is now planning the dates of the food swaps in 2016.
