GORING’S scouts and guides have soundproofed their headquarters following a community fund-raising campaign.
Six absorbent panels worth more than £3,600 have been fixed to the walls and ceiling at Storton Lodge, off Icknield Road, to reduce the impact on neighbours when activities take place inside.
The cost was covered by a £2,500 donation from Goring Gap News, £500 from Cedar Consulting UK and fund-raising by the children, including a car-washing day that raised more than £360.
The group now hopes to replace the building’s sprung flooring.
