HENLEY Lions Club has celebrated its 45th anniversary

HENLEY Lions Club has celebrated its 45th anniversary.

A charter lunch was held at Red Lion Hotel in Hart Street to mark the occasion and was attended by about 50 people, including Henley Mayor Lorraine Hiller.

Members of Lions clubs in Burnham, Windsor and Maidenhead also attended together with district governor Alan Chapman.

The club’s charter, which shows the names of the founding members, was displayed at Sunday’s event.

Club president Pam Pitts said: “The group is healthy and membership numbers are strong but we always welcome new members.

“Each year we raise in the region of £10,000 for local charities. It’s very important to us that they are local.”

The club meets at King's Arms Barn at 7.45pm on the first Monday of each month.
