Show secretary Ray Huggins said: “Sheeplands is a very good venue for us and we have held our annual show there for a few years now. We usually get a very good turnout of visitors and we are all really looking forward to this year’s event.”

The show will run from 11am to 4pm. For more information, call Mr Huggins on 01252 870738 or Barry Cook on 0118  958 0448.

Meanwhile, a rock choir and circus skills expert performed at the garden centre last Saturday.

Wokingham Rock Choir visited as part of a fund-raising tour in support of Mencap.

Choir leader Glen Harvey said: “It’s the first time I have been here and it’s a real treat for me because gardening is a favourite pastime.”

Circus skills performer Mike Tait, alias Oojamaflip, taught children how to balance and spin plates.

Hare Hatch Sheeplands owner Rob Scott said: “We were very pleased to support the choir’s campaign to raise funds for Mencap and it was lovely to see the joy on children’s faces as they mastered the art of plate-spinning.”
