THERESA MAY will attend Wargrave Girls FC’s annual awards ceremony tomorrow (Saturday).

The Home Secretary and Maidenhead MP, who is president of the junior football team, will present the awards at the recreation ground, off Recreation Road.

The event will begin with an all-ages match at 9.30am before the annual meeting and presentation of awards at 11am. There will also be a barbecue and refreshments for players and parents.

Wargrave Girls was founded in 2000 and is now the second largest girls-only club in the country with more than 200 players. The under-11 and under-12 teams both won cup competitions last month, the former winning after a penalty shootout.
