BOOKINGS are now open for the Henley branch of the Royal British Legion’s special interest talk and lunch to be held on Thursday, March 13 at the Menza café at Henley Rugby Club.
Our speaker is Pauline Vahey, whose talk is entitled “Those magnificent women in their flying machines”.
She will talk about her experiences as a pilot, the history of women in the air in the UK, starting with the first woman to become airborne in the 18th century, and will include some amusing stories.
Lunch will be chicken curry (vegetarian option available) followed by apple crumble with custard or cheese and biscuits. The cost is £18, including tea and
coffee.
You should be seated no later than 11.20am for the talk with lunch from 12.30pm to 2pm.

You can also hand in a cheque on the day but please let us know in advance if you are choosing that option.
Parking costs 50p but if you have difficulty with the payment machine please leave a note saying “British Legion” and pay 50p to Ania and we will settle the fee with the rugby club.
