New 13-mile charity walk to feature 'splendour of Windsor's landmarks'

A new fundraising event by a leading UK youth charity is inviting Windsor residents to don their walking shoes this autumn.

The Prince’s Trust is offering residents a ‘memorable experience’ with a special 13-mile route passing through Windsor’s iconic landmarks.

Starting from Windsor Racecourse, the new Palace Walk fundraiser will include Alexandra Gardens, Windsor Castle, The Long Walk and Windsor Great Park.

The event on Sunday, October 6 at 8am will help raise vital funds to help transform the lives of young people across the country.

Events Manager at The Prince’s Trust, Becky Harrison said: “We’re delighted to introduce the Palace Walk to Windsor. It promises to be a memorable day for all involved, and every penny raised helps to support disadvantaged young people across the UK into courses and careers.”

This year’s inaugural Palace Walk will coincide with The Trust’s Palace to Palace cycling event, now in its seventeenth year, which has since helped raise over £6million for the charity in support of young people.

The Prince’s Trust has helped over a million young people into work, education or training and the courses offered by The Trust give young people the practical and financial support needed to stabilise their lives, helping develop self-esteem and skills for work.

The Palace Walk is open to those aged 14 and above, with the Finish Festival open to all, encouraging participants to bring along friends and family to enjoy the festivities.

From live music, a selection of delicious food vendors, family-friendly activities, entertainment and more; there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Palace walkers can expect special refreshment stops along the way, before finishing their walk at Windsor Racecourse where they can join the Palace to Palace cyclists at the celebratory Finish Festival.

The registration fee is £30 and fundraising target per person is £150.
