ABOUT 100 people attended Kidmore End Pre-School’s summer fair held in the grounds of the village primary school.
Attractions included stalls, a hog roast, tractor and trailor rides and a silent auction.
About 20 members of Sam Brown’s International Ukelele Club performed.
About £1,500 was raised which will go towards new equipment at the pre-school.
Fund-raising officer Nicole Billington, whose three-year-old George attends the pre-school, said: “We were fairly successful considering the torrential rain we had on the day. We still had a good turnout.
“The extra money goes towards things that the fees can’t contribute towards and so the children can have the best possible equipment.”
Nicky Liddon-Horncastle, manager of the pre-school, said: “It was all fine until the heavens opened.
“Everyone was desperately wet but the ukulele band kept playing under the gazebo, which created a nice atmosphere.
“Everyone had worked really hard. It was very much a traditional village fete and everyone was very supportive.”
