Croquet and Pimm’s at care home summer garden party

A SUMMER garden party was held at a care home in Shiplake.

A SUMMER garden party was held at a care home in Shiplake.

Residents of Tower House were joined by friends, family and guests for afternoon tea, drinks and jazz.

The guests included Rev Michael Seymour-Jones, associate curate for Shiplake, Harpsden and Dunsden, and Father Paul Fitzpatrick, parish priest at Sacred Heart Church in Henley, who are both chaplains for the care home.

Rev Seymour-Jones welcomed guests, saying: “My first duty is to welcome all the family and friends who are here for the summer garden party. Sadly, we have lost friends at Tower House in the last year but I would like to offer a warm welcome to the newest residents and their families.

“Tower House provides a wonderful Christian environment and this is an example set from the top by Bridget [Kidd, home manager].”

Mrs Kidd said: “Residents, their families and friends enjoyed our garden party.

“Champagne and Pimm’s were the order of the day. People also played croquet on the lawn.”
