ANDREA WILLIAMS passed away peacefully on Wednesday last week at the Sue Ryder hospice in Nettlebed. She was 70.

Rev Williams, of St Nicholas’ Church, Rotherfield Greys, was associate priest in the Rotherfield Greys and Nettlebed benefice.

She was a regular contributor to the Henley Standard’s Thought for the Week column.

She led many “messy church” sessions at Nettlebed and had the vision for the monthly vintage coffee and cake café in the Elizabeth Room behind the church in Rotherfield Greys, which was very well attended.

Rev Williams also held several strawberry teas in her garden in aid of Breast Cancer Care, which raised more than £1,000.

For the last three years she worked with the congregations designing modern, challenging and interactive installations for Holy Week at St Bartholomew’s Church in Nettlebed.

Rev Williams had always said: “I am at peace about dying because I know that I am going to be with Jesus in heaven.”

She will be sadly missed by her loving family and friends.

A celebration service will be held at St Nicholas’ Church on Tuesday (October 11) at 11.30am.

No black clothes should be worn, only bright colours, especially hot pink and sparkly.

The family has asked that instead of flowers donations should be made to cancer research. They can be sent to funeral directors Tomalin & Son at Anderson House, 38 Reading Road, Henley RG9 1AG. Tel. (01491) 573370.
