A TEN-DAY festival of music and the arts will be held in Goring this summer.
The Goring and Streatley Festival, which runs from June 27 to July 6, will showcase musicians, artists, dancers and drama groups from both villages.
There will be at least two or three events each day at venues including St Thomas’ Church, Goring village hall and a number of pubs, cafés and restaurants.
The concerts will include every genre from rock and pop to jazz, folk and classical. There will be workshops on a range of subjects including arts and crafts, street dance and circus skills, as well as a series of “fringe” events with stand-up comedy and street theatre.
The festival is being organised to commemorate the village’s celebrations of the Queen’s diamond jubilee in 2012 and the organisers hope that it will become an annual event.
