A HENLEY man has launched a campaign urging Gillotts School not to sell a playing field for housing, writes James Burton.
Trevor Howell, whose house in Blandy Road backs on to the pitch that would be sold, says there are alternatives to the academy school’s plan.
He is distributing a leaflet outlining his concerns and asking people who share his views to contact him.
Gillotts is considering selling 3.4 hectares of land on the eastern edge of the school site, which it says has space for up to 85 homes.
It believes it would make several million pounds, which it would then spend on refurbishing the school’s old buildings and erecting new ones.
