A PARTNERSHIP agreement over the future staffing at Watlington Library has been backed by the public.
The Friends of Watlington Library is in talks with Oxfordshire County Council over the use of volunteers to help staff the High Street library from April 1 next year.
It follows the council’s decision in 2011 to reduce staff funding at the library by 50 per cent as part of its budget cuts.
The issue was discussed at the group’s annual meeting earlier this month.
The Friends will now call for a final legal check before any documents are signed with the county council.
