THREE hundred people braved heavy rain to attend Ewelme village show.
The annual event went ahead at the village recreation ground on Monday afternoon despite downpours throughout the day.
The Goring and Streatley Concert Band and several stallholders were forced to cancel their appearances due to the weather but organisers were pleased with the attendance.
Angela Harrison, who chairs the Ewelme Horticultural Society group, which runs the show, said: “It actually went very well considering the horrendous weather. We had 300 people going through the marquee and we normally have about 500 so that was amazing.”
There was an exhibition of prize-winning fruit, vegetables, flowers, floral arrangements, cookery and home crafts. Children’s entertainer Bertie Slippers performed magic tricks for youngsters and made balloon animals and hats.
