A TALK about one of the most famous British expeditions of the 20th century will be held in Watlington.
Colonel John Blashford-Snell will speak on “The Conquest of the Blue Nile” at Icknield Community College on Saturday, September 27 at 7.30pm.
He will focus on the team of servicemen and scientists who made the first complete exploration and navigation of the infamous river in the mountains of Ethiopia.
Col Blashford-Snell is a seasoned explorer who has led more than 100 expeditions worldwide.
The event is the Friends of Watlington Library’s major fund-raising event of the year. Tickets cost £8 for adults and £4 for students and are available from the library and the post office.
