Tulips tribute

TULIPS could be planted around the war memorial in Station Road, Wargrave, to commemorate the centenary of the First World War.

Wargrave Parish Council chairman Richard Bush suggested the idea, saying the flowers would come into bloom every spring.

He said: “My wife suggested we could plant the tulips, maybe not in the whole triangle but around the sides.Alternatively, you could have some by the front on the memorial and the majority around the tablets.”
