KEITH SMALLBONE was the final winner of the Standard’s Christmas hamper competition — despite not entering himself.
His son Trevor, who lives with him in Ashlee Walk, Woodcote, put his father’s name forward to win the festive treat from Waitrose, which included a bottle of Prosecco and a Christmas pudding.
Mr Smallbone, 79, a retired lorry driver, said he was “delighted” to win.
His son added: “It is the first competition he has won and when I entered him he said that he wouldn’t win because he never wins anything.”
Mr Smallbone snr spent Christmas with Trevor and his two other sons, Jeff and Nigel, and their families.
The Standard will be giving away more festive hampers from Waitrose and Tesco in the run-up to next Christmas.
