A PUPIL at Reading Blue Coat School in Sonning performed at St Paul’s Cathedral in London.

Edward Reeves, 17, played the organ after an evensong service while fellow music students and staff sat in the choir stalls. He has been invited back to give a solo recital at the cathedral later this year.

Edward, who has accepted an organ scholarship at Salisbury Cathedral, said: “The organ at St Paul’s is by the world famous organ builder, Father Willis, whose other famous cathedral organ is that of Salisbury.

“It was a great honour and pleasure to play such a magnificent instrument in one of the greatest cathedrals in the world.”
