Campaign award bid

A HOUSING association has been shortlisted for an award.

A HOUSING association has been shortlisted for an award.

Soha, which is responsible for a large number of properties in Henley and South Oxfordshire, has been nominated for Welfare Aware Award for its “Act Now, Ask Soha How” campaign designed to prepare its tenants for the Government’s benefits changes.

The campaign, which was launched this month, features a YouTube film, leaflet and postcard mailshots, text messaging, a website and social media engagement.

The changes include the so-called “bedroom tax”, where people lose up to 25 per cent of their housing benefit if they have spare rooms in their home.

Richard Peacock, chief executive of Soha, said: “We want this campaign to reach everyone who might be affected so they can get the help and advice they need.”
