A HENLEY road was closed on Sunday as residents gathered for a street party.

Marmion Road hosted the event, which was also attended by residents from neighbouring Grove Road.

Claire Beard and Paul McSweeney decided to organise the party following the children?s games, a quiz, afternoon tea and live music.

Mr McSweeney said: ?We had been doing it for other events and we all get on so success of street parties to celebrate the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in 2011 and the Queen?s diamond jubilee last year.

The party started at 12.30pm and throughout the day guests enjoyed lunch, well that we thought we would do it again. We have around 85 people here and everyone has done what they have done before ? brought along a dish and had fun.

?Different people arrange different things, such as the tables and the bunting, and it just happens.

?It is wonderful that everyone wanted to do it again. We are very lucky.?
