Festival fortnight to finish with fun day

CAVERSHAM Park Village Festival continues this weekend with a range of events for the whole family.

CAVERSHAM Park Village Festival continues this weekend with a range of events for the whole family.

The annual event kicked off last Saturday and will run until June 15.

Run by the Caversham Park Village Association, it aims is to provide something for everyone in the area.

A festival pop quiz will be held tonight (Friday) from 7.30pm and is for teams of four. It will be held at the Milestone Centre Function Room and costs £2 per person.

Tomorrow (Saturday), a market will be held in the village hall at the Milestone Centre from 1pm to 4pm.

Stalls will be selling artisan cakes, local produce, crafts, nearly new toys, computer accessories and refreshments. Festival poker night will take place on Wednesday at 7.30pm, followed by the Cockles Darts Trophy event the following evening, also at 7.30pm.

The annual general knowledge quiz will be run by Roger Wolven-Allen next Friday while the following day is festival fun day (2pm), featuring live music, stalls, a coconut shy, bouncy castles and crockery smashing.

Miriam Corringham, a member of the association, said: “The festival was going before the buildings were here. It is a community event that we put on for the whole of the village and there is something for everybody within that. It is about bringing everyone together.

“We hope that the good weather continues.”
