This year's Regatta Radio lineup revealed

TELEVISION presenter Steve Rider will once again be part of the Regatta Radio team covering this year?s Henley Royal Regatta.

TELEVISION presenter Steve Rider will once again be part of the Regatta Radio team covering this year?s Henley Royal Regatta.

The station will be broadcasting for 10 days before and after the event for the eighth year running.

Rider, from Hurley, will conduct a series of interviews, including one with last year?s Olympic bronze medallist Will Satch.

He was among more than 40 guests, including directors, presenters, friends and supporters, who attended a launch at Hotel du Vin in Henley.

Chairman Peter McConnell said the station had improved dramatically since it was founded in 2005.

He said: ?We?ve gone from hospital radio to professional quality broadcasting, producing fascinating commentary that brings the regatta alive for thousands of listeners in the UK and Henley.?

Mr McConnell said the station had more than 20,000 listeners, including some as far as Brazil and Australia thanks to live internet streaming.

This year?s output will cover the build-up to the event with interviews with athletes, crews, coaches, stewards, rowing journalists and other characters associated with the regatta as well as live commentary during the five days of competition.

Regatta Radio will be broadcasting on 87.7 FM and online daily from June 28 to July 7. The station is to release an app for iPhones and Android phones on June 21.
