A STUNTMAN from Henley took part in the BASE Jump Extreme World Championships at the weekend.
Gary Connery, 43, of Station Road, finished 16th after three 690ft jumps from the Gran Hotel Bali in Benidorm.
It was his debut base jumping competition and he struggled in his first jump after problems with his steering and braking equipment.
Mr Connery, a stunt co-ordinator in the film industry, said he had still enjoyed the thrill.
“It’s pretty funky being stood on a building at 690ft with a very tight landing area,” he said. “It makes you feel alive when your flying towards the ground seconds from impact.
“The vibe in the crowd is always very good at these events.”
