A VOLUNTEER has won an award for her work with the Chiltern Centre for disabled children in Henley.
Jessica Beard, 22, of Greys Road, Henley, was honoured at the Oxfordshire Charity and Voluntary Action Awards.
Miss Beard, who runs events at Said Business School at the University of Oxford, has been volunteering at the centre for a year and helps to organise fund-raising events.
She said: ?I help with things like open days and fashion shows and I?ve done a few concerts. I find it really rewarding and it?s a really good way to learn more about planning events.?
She was nominated by Emma Lerche-Thomsen, a community fund-raiser at the centre.
She said: ?Jessica proved herself a very willing, talented and enthusiastic volunteer with fund-raising events, working many hours and with a lovely can-do attitude.?
Wyfold Riding for the Disabled was nominated in the Clark Howes Award that recognises the long-standing and consistent contribution that a group that has made over a number of years.
