THE Environment Agency is looking for volunteers to help out at locks on the Thames.

Working with professional lock- and weir-keepers, volunteers will help boats through locks and can use their knowledge of the river to inform visitors.

Training will be provided for successful candidates as well as a branded uniform. Volunteers need to be relatively fit, have an interest in river life and be available at least one day a week between May and October.

For more information or an application pack, call (01491) 828360.
