The year seven and eight pupils wore a range of colourful costumes while their English teachers dressed as Wally from the Where’s Wally? series.

There was also a cake sale in aid of Book Aid International, which works in partnership with libraries in Africa to provide books, resources and training.

There was a book quiz and performance poetry and pupils also made posters featuring Shakespearean insults.

Librarian Sarah Seddon said the whole day was fun while also showing the importance of reading.
