Painting finds home

I AM happy to report that following my appeal two weeks ago, the owner of “Bertie” the dog has come forward to claim his painting from artist Clive Hemsley.

He is Bill Rook, who founded the local branch of stockbrokers Redmayne Bentley 22 years ago.

Bill tells me that his dog’s name is actually Ziggy and he is a tri colour King Charles spaniel.

He says: “He is nine years old, loves people, especially children, and adores his walks around Henley, especially along the pathways at Mill Meadows where you might find him chasing ducks, running with a stick or taking a dip in the shallower waters. In fact, that’s where I bumped into Clive and he revealed the mystery to me and everything has unfolded unfolded since.

“The picture is so like Ziggy and hangs in my office. Lovely job, Clive.”
