Economist tackles election

AN economist spoke to business people at the River and Rowing Museum in Henley.

AN economist spoke to business people at the River and Rowing Museum in Henley.

Ian Stewart, chief economist at Deloitte UK, addressed about 100 members of the Thames Valley First business group about the elections and the economy.

He spoke about quantative easing, a possible EU referendum and business investment in the election period.

Mr Stewart said he had carried out a survey of major UK companies that showed many businesses were holding back on investments until after the elections on May 7.
