CHILDREN from Kidmore End Primary School have won the Oxfordshire sportshall athletics competition for the second year in a row.

Pupils from years five and six qualified for the county final at White Horse leisure centre in Abingdon after winning the South Oxfordshire competition.

The contest focuses on fitness and multiple skills development that provide children with a grounding for all sports. Boys and girls compete seperately in track and field events, including obstacle relays and standing long jump.

Kidmore End headteacher Linda Hull said: “We are delighted. Our athletics coach, Allen Souch, does a great job of motivating the children to improve their performance each week and this has clearly paid off.”
