BIX will hold its annual fete and fun dog show on the village common on Saturday, June 6 (2pm).

The special guest at the f dog show will be seven–month–old springer spaniel Aster, from Berkshire Search and Rescue.

There will be an agility demonstration presented by Jeannie Page from One–to–One Dogs in Henley.

The show will offer eight classes: waggiest tail, best trick, musical chairs, most handsome dog, prettiest bitch, best veteran, best youngster and judges’ favourite. The fee for each class is £1 and registration will be from 1.30pm.

Prizes will include rosettes to four places and vouchers donated by the Henley Veterinary Centre, the Big Dog Bed Company and Mark Lord Photography.

This year the show will be judged by Kate Lockwood, an osteopath who specialises in the treatment of dogs and horses.

Show organiser Maggie Templeman, from Lower Assendon, said: “Our show is all about having fun. Our aim is smiles and waggy tails.”

The fete will start at noon with a barbecue.

Attractions will include stalls, local produce, teas, a bar, bouncy castle, raffle and live music from Woodcote pianist Tim Valentine.

Both events are in aid of the upkeep of St James Church, Bix.
