A JOURNALIST from Goring has made a documentary about political refugees.
Sarah Hurst visited Ukraine last year and interviewed seven former Russian nationals who had fled their homeland
They told her they had been persecuted for criticising Vladimir Putin’s presidency and his military intervention in Ukraine. Many faced house arrest and some said they had been beaten by police.
Ms Hurst recorded her interviews on a small hand-held camera and added English subtitles while editing them.
She uploaded the finished film to YouTube, where it has been watched more than 11,000 times.
She said: “It was made single-handedly with no funding but it draws attention to their little-known stories.”
The film is called The Way To Ukraine.
