A TROPHY will be presented to the overall winners of the dragon boat racing at this year?s Henley Regatta for the Disabled.

The Dongola Challenge Cup, which has been stored at the River and Rowing Museum in Henley, will be presented to the winning team for the first time.

It was originally presented to Lt Col F C Ricardo in 1899 by Maidenhead Rowing Club for an annual winter race between local up-river clubs.

The sixth annual Regatta for the Disabled will be held at Phyllis Court Club on Satuday, September 5 from 10am to 4pm and offers those with varying disabilities the opportunity to experience activities on the water and riverbank.

There will also be a climbing wall, Punch and Judy show, pony rides, trade stands, inflatables, an interactive zoo, live music, food and a bar.

Free leisure boat trips will run throughout the day on the specially adapted Rivertime, which has wheelchair access, but it is advisable to make book early on the day.

Tickets cost £5 but carers enter free. Car parking is free. For more information, visit www.regattaforthedisabled.org
