Villager s book on commons people

A WOMAN from Peppard has written a new book on the history of the village’s commons.

A WOMAN from Peppard has written a new book on the history of the village’s commons.

Sue Nickson, of Stoke Row Road, has penned In Common Memory in the last two years, which looks at the histories of Kingwood and Peppard Common.

All profits from the book will go to Peppard Relief in Need, which helps people in the village with financial problems.

Mrs Nickson, who moved to Peppard with her family in 1987, said: “People from the village can appeal to them [Relief in Need] if they have any financial problems.

“If someone is on income support and their boiler breaks and they can’t afford to fix it they would help.”

The book focuses on people who have lived around the commons for the last 75 years as well as the historical change in the area.

Mrs Nickson said: “Everything in the books relates to the two commons and the people’s stories that come with them.”
