Weighing in: Scarlett Mills, 10, from Maidensgrove, baked 200 cakes to raise funds for Cancer Research UK Kids & Teens. She raised £112 by selling the cakes to her friends at the Abbey Junior School in Reading at break time. She baked fairy cakes, chocolate brownies, flapjacks, banana bread and cornflake crisps.

Her mother Nicola said: “Scarlett chose this charity because when she started school two of her classmates suffered cancer. Thankfully, both have recovered. It was also highlighted on Heart radio, which we listen to regularly on the way in in the morning.”
