Veteran dies at 88

A FORMER serviceman who belonged to the Watlington branch of the Royal British Legion for more

A FORMER serviceman who belonged to the Watlington branch of the Royal British Legion for more than 40 years has died.

Derek Elliott, 88, of Chapel Street, held numerous positions with the branch.

Secretary Jim Stubbs said his contribution was “enormous and long-lasting”.

Mr Elliott used to visit Icknield Community College in the town each November to speak to the students about the importance of remembrance.
