THE Henley Army Cadet Force has had a busy start to the spring and is looking forward to summer.
LCpl Jack Hall has been chosen to represent Oxfordshire at regional level on the cadet target rifle and the force is hoping to compete at the annual inter-service cadet rifle meeting at Bisley in July.
Henley Army Cadets have recently come away from a unit fieldcraft training weekend near Woodcote, where the cadets thoroughly enjoyed being outdoors and putting to use the skills they have learnt over the winter.
They are now preparing for further training in June as well as the two-week annual camp at Swynnterton in Staffordshire in August.
The Army Cadet Force is a national youth organisation sponsored and supported by the Ministry of Defence for 12- to 18- year-olds. It provides a challenging and varied syllabus based on military themes.
The Henley Army Cadet Force parades every Wednesday from 7pm to 9.30pm at the old drill hall in Friday Street, Henley, and is always looking for new cadets to join our large unit of 40 cadets.
If you are interested in joining, please call 2nd Lieutenant Thomas Fearn on 07500 504397 or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org
