THE 35th annual Stoke Row Steam Rally will take place at Hill Bottom, Whitchurch Hill, on the weekend of June 11 and 12.

Thousands of people are expected to attend the event, which features several new attractions, including a timber tractor parade featuring 13 timber lorries and 10 winch tractors.

The drivers will give a working display in which they will unload the vehicles and demonstrate their wood sawing skills.

A range of steam engines, tractors, commercial vehicles, vintage, veteran and classic cars, military vehicles, motorbikes and stationary engines will be on show. A Spitfire and Hurricane from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will perform a flypast on the Saturday while a Lancaster bomber will fly overhead on the Sunday.

There will also be a real ale marquee with live bands performing rock and country music.

The rally is organised by the Stoke Row Steam & Vintage Vehicle Club, which is dedicated to preserving steam engines and vintage, veteran and classic vehicles.

It opens at 10am on both days and runs into the evening on the Saturday and finishes at 5pm on the Sunday. Admission is £7 for adults, £3 for children under 12 and free for under-fives.
