Free painting of your dog for Christmas

ARE you a dog owner and looking for an unusual Christmas present?

ARE you a dog owner and looking for an unusual Christmas present?

Well, here’s a solution — and it’s absolutely free. Imagine your partner or a member of your family opening their gift and discovering it’s an original painting of their favourite pet.

Henley Standard
has once again teamed up with Henley artist Clive Hemsley (pictured below) to offer seven readers a complimentary painting of their dog.

Clive has already painted 193 such pictures following this same offer a year ago and by supporting our Henley’s Top Dog competition.

Now he wants to reach the 200 mark — and to complete the seven winners’ paintings in time for Christmas.

Clive’s oil paintings are based on photographs just like the ones shown here.

He says: “Once again I would like to offer my services to produce seven free oil paintings of Henley’s most wonderful pooches.”

In order to take advantage of this rare offer, all you have to do is send us a good quality photograph of your dog that you would like to see in oils and Clive will produce a finished artwork on a canvas 40cm x 40cm (16in x 16in).

He recommends that your picture is a close-up showing mainly your dog’s head and says: “The trick in producing a really good painting is in the eyes as we all instantly recognise our woofers that way.”

Send your photos, preferably by email, to or by post to: Dog portrait offer, Henley Standard

Henley Standard
, Caxton House, Station Road, Henley RG9 1AD.

Please include your name, full postal address and daytime phone number.

The senders of the first seven photos to be selected by Clive will have their pictures turned into paintings and will be notified.

Entries must arrive no later than Friday, December 4 and Clive will endeavour to have your painting ready by Christmas, although this cannot be guaranteed.

This offer is non-refundable and there is no cash alternative. To enter, you must live in the

Henley Standard’s
circulation area. Normal
