Mayor’s final cut

HENLEY Mayor Tom Buckley has defended his fashion choices this week amid criticism he should smarten up at more formal events.

Councillor Buckley has now revealed that he had been contacted by a reader with “connections” to Savile Row, the hub of the country’s premier suit-making industry, and offered help with his wardrobe.

But Cllr Buckley said: “It was a kind, wonderful offer. But completely inappropriate.”
