Residents called on to settle boundary row

A ROW over the boundary between Sonning Common and Peppard looks set to continue.

South Oxfordshire District Council has decided the boundary will remain as it is after the two parish councils disagreed over where the new line should be drawn.

Both councils wanted to take land from the other but when the district council responded by suggesting that 160 homes be moved from Peppard to Sonning Common this angered residents of the former parish.

Peppard Parish Council then decided to demand the boundary stays as it is and last week the district council met and agreed this, despite having previously said that this would be “unsatisfactory”.

Residents of both parishes will now be able to submit their views as part of a consultation which will end in May before a final decision in July.
