Residents’ group founders keen to stand for council

TWO community campaigners are considering standing for election to Henley Town Council.

Paula Isaac and Dave Eggleton, who founded the Gainsborough Residents’ Association, have joined the council’s ruling Henley Residents’ Group as it prepares for the next elections in May.

The pair were asked to join by former mayor Stefan Gawrysiak.

Mrs Isaac, 34, of Gainsborough Road, said: “It made sense really because we’re involved with the council anyway and we really want to improve things for people in the town.

“I think the council could do with some young blood and fresh ideas from normal working families who are perhaps not on as high incomes as other people.
