TURVILLE PARK ran out comfortable winners at home to CRAZIES HILL on Sunday on a variable pitch that was still suffering from the recent wet weather.
The visitors won the toss and decided to bat first, and soon found that defence was both paramount and tricky, while runs were at a premium. Turville made the task difficult as the attack held to a consistent line and length.
Charlie Beardall bowled seven overs for just five runs but the real damage was done by spin as Neil Runkel took 4-14 off five overs and Jon Hancock garnered 3-17 off seven overs. James Thornton chipped in for 2-28 off nine overs.
Set just 66 to win, Turville made short work of it on a wicket that had now dried out. Skipper Sam Beardall led the charge on 47 not out, ably supported by Nick Henry with 13 not out as the match was concluded before 5pm.
