HURLEY U15s maintained their unbeaten run in the Berkshire Youth League with a comprehensive victory
HURLEY U15s maintained their unbeaten run in the Berkshire Youth League with a comprehensive victory against NORTH MAIDENHEAD U15s.
North Maidenhead, batting first, made a steady start with Hill having Bilal caught by Graham. North Maidenhead accelerated their scoring from 24 off six overs to 63 off 11 before a suicidal run off Dawkins accounted for Ammar (22).
The assault continued as Asim continually got the ball away before Cooper took a smart catch off Dawkins. Salam (29) continued to add the runs as North Maidenhead finished on 133 with 43 being extras.
In reply Henry Graham made his intentions clear from the first over which he hit for 14. Ollie Dawkins then hit the following over for 16 runs, including a six through square leg.
The pair continued their all out attack, maintaining control throughout to nudge singles when required and dispatch the bad ball for a succession of boundaries.
Despite surviving a catch off his last ball, Dawkins finished on 50 not out, including three sixes. Hill continued Hurley’s grip on the game, before falling to a smart catch at midwicket for 14.
Howell made a rare appearance up the order, but it was left to Patrick (6 not out) and Graham (42 not out) to ease Hurley home and strengthen their position at the top of the table.
