HENLEY Golf Club’s ladies’ captain Sally Woolven held her captain’s day four ball better ball competition last week where 84 golfers competed dressed in St Trinian’s outfits.
Club professional Mark Howell and his staff joined in the fun, suitably attired in a headmaster’s outfit with mortar board and gown.
Jane Atkin and Gail Nathan won the day with 40 Stableford points on countback from the pairing of Gilly Hudson and Ali Michell. Annette Bacon and Anne Richards were third with 39 points again on countback from Nikki Donohue and her partner Kathy Hooper. Maggi Buffin won nearest the pin for the silver division while Renuke Logan secured bronze. Maddy Field won the ladies’ medal which took on Saturday with a score of net 68 which was four shots better than runner-up Karen Pollard. Muriel Quinsac was third with 73 points. The men’s extra medal which took place on Friday of last week was won by Rob Ellerby with a level score round of net 70 which was a shot better than Barry Liggins. Dennis Oliver was third with 73 points which was a shot better than fourth placed Roger Hanner.
