Tight bowling wins the day as local rivals Greys Green and Stonor settle for draw

HOSTS STONOR drew their match with local rivals GREYS GREEN on Sunday.

HOSTS STONOR drew their match with local rivals GREYS GREEN on Sunday.

With the visitors batting first the hosts bowled tightly at the start, removing Skilleter and Knight early on, bringing to the wicket the big hitting Lubbock who punished anything short.

Good work behind the stumps from Williams, who took three catches, kept the visitors down to 140.

The surprise arrival of Ahmed at tea proved to be crucial in keeping the runs down for the visitors whilst Rooke kept on picking up wickets at the other end.

Tight bowling from Skilleter and Lubbock meant that the hosts were always behind the required run rate and it was left to Kavanagh to steady the Stonor innings and play out for the draw ably supported by Alden-Court.
